I am usually not a fan of reading poetry out loud, but I thought this one would make a natural companion to this Bach piece, which is one of my favorites. This poem was recently published in The Paris Review (Winter 2010 issue). Also, I believe I tracked down the poem by William IX, a troubador, that inspired it — that can be found here.
